St Mungo's Opening doors for London's homeless

Creative writing group

The Fabulous Creative Writing Group brings together the creative talents of the homeless men and women using our services.

The people who attend have a real passion to express themselves through their writing.

Each week, the group meets at our Bridge Training Centre for an afternoon of writing, games and debate, and to work on personal projects including novels, poetry, scripts, life-stories and magazine articles. The group is currently working on a film, tv and theatre scripts.

We also meet with other groups of writers and actors away from Bridge to discuss and critically appraise our writing.

Some of our clients have sold their work and many previous members of the group have gone on to enrol at university, start up businesses and even win scholarships to writing retreats.
