St Mungo's strives to work with national and local government in order to achieve our ambition to reverse the increase in rough sleeping in England and halve the number of people sleeping rough in the areas we work in by 2021.

We work to shape policy and legislation which has the biggest impact on our clients: people who are already experiencing, or are at serious risk of, homelessness and rough sleeping. We seek policy change that will help end the devastating cycle of repeat homelessness, and ensure that support is available to people with the most complex problems so they can rebuild their lives away from the streets for good.

Our influencing strategy focuses on five areas:

  • Responding when someone becomes homeless

There has to be swift and appropriate support available. What are we calling for?
