We welcome media enquiries about our work, and have a small press office which is happy to provide comment on all aspects of homelessness, such as housing, rough sleeping, substance use, mental health and any other issues affecting our clients.
St Mungo's aims to influence policies which affect homeless and excluded people. We have run a number of high-profile campaigns highlighting the issues affecting rough sleepers, including National Sleep Out Week. We were also involved in pushing for radical improvements to government help for homeless people, which led to the introduction in 1998 of the Rough Sleepers Unit. We are now the largest single organisation working on behalf of the RSU with people sleeping rough.
