Social enterprise

St Mungo's sees social enterprise - working on community projects - as a positive way of empowering clients.

Clients develop a wide range of skills that can help them to gain employment and recover from homelessness for good. These range from the 'hard' skills needed to do a particular job, to 'softer' skills like communication and negotiation.

We have a number of new and innovative projects coming up, designed to help more St Mungo's clients into employment. These include a painting and decorating project with accredited training in our Endsleigh Gardens Hostel; a Community Radio Station and Sound Studio in our Endell Street Hostel; and various Gardening Projects with our Putting Down Roots team.

Our Employment Team is also looking at running a service for ex-offenders, helping them to access similar schemes.
