St Mungo's North Herts Sanctuary

St Mungo's began managing the Sanctuary in December 2011

We provide temporary night shelter accommodation and support, between the hours of 7pm and 8.15am, to single homeless men and women in shared accommodation.

There is accommodation for 17 clients as well as showers, laundry facilities, computers suite and a TV room.

A drop-in service operates during the day, Monday to Friday between 1.30pm- 3.30pm where clients can access keyworking support and onward referral.

A manager, deputy and a support worker supports clients with issues around alcohol and substance misuse, mental or physical health, help them move on into different accommodation and encourage them recover and rebuild their lives.

A hot evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch is provided.

Cost for clients: Clients are charged ₤1.50 per night, which includes the use of all services and amenities, a cooked evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch.

Referrals: Clients can refer themselves in person to the Sanctuary between the hours of 9.00am - 4.00pm weekdays.  They can also be referred to the Sanctuary by a number of outside organisations including North Herts District Council, local hospitals, statutory agencies, the police or the probation service.
