Action Week '09
The Bridge Walk - Sunday 5 July
The week started on Sunday 5 July with over 160 St Mungo's supporters, staff, clients and volunteers enjoying a five mile sponsored walk across five of London's most famous bridges. In line with the theme of the whole week, the Bridge Walk focused on improved mental health and wellbeing through fun and exercise, and ended with a free picnic, donated by Pret a Manger, for all our walkers. Click here to see a map of the route we took, and check back here for pictures from the day.

Garden Party and launch of £1million Mental Health Appeal - Tuesday 7 July
St Mungo's Supporters joined us, during flash floods and thunderstorms, on the 7 July for our Garden Party and the launch of our £1million Mental Health Appeal at Westminster Abbey. Due to the dramatic weather the event was held in the Abbey's museum, however, the party was a great success! The event featured demonstrations from our gardening project 'Putting Down Roots' and speeches by Charles Fraser, St Mungo's Chief Executive and former St Mungo's clients, who spoke about the positive benefit that joining the project had made to their lives.
Reasons to be cheerful! - Client wellbeing event Wednesday 8 July
Mungopoly, scaletrix, a chillout therapy zone and video booth - these were some of the activities that went into making this event, held at our Redcliffe Gardens Wellbeing Centre, a huge success. Clients from across St Mungo's projects, took part in workshops and fun activities whilst sharing their experiences and exploring the theme of 'what makes us happy'. Well done to everyone in St Mungo's client involvement group Outside In for organising and putting the whole event together and ensuring that everyone had a brilliant time!
Endsleigh Gardens hostel and Bricks and Mortar Open day - 8 July 4-6pm
Dispite the week's bad wheather, this event was extremely successful and well attended by staff, clients, neighbours and members of the public. It featured mouth wateringly good food, demonstrations of work carried by students on the Bricks and Mortar training programme, and displays of artwork and photography by St Mungo's clients.
