Gareth’s story

Gareth is a civil servant working in Westminster, who has been volunteering with St Mungo’s for two years. He has supported our work with StreetLink, No Second Night Out and for the past year has played an important role in helping to set up First Response. This is an innovative new service funded by Chestertons that sees volunteers help our Outreach teams find people who are sleeping rough.

Over the past 12 months, Gareth has volunteered across five London boroughs, welcomed new volunteers as one of our inductors and contributed 8% of the total First Response volunteer hours. Listen as Gareth walks us through a shift in East London and explains what motivates him to volunteer with First Response.
