St Mungo’s has been listed in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers. The charity was ranked 42nd out of 445 employers who submitted entries across the public, private and charity sectors, climbing 30 places from last year’s ranking. This year, St Mungo’s was also one of fourteen organisations recognised by Stonewall as a Top Trans Employer.
The Stonewall Top 100 Employers are the best performing employers on Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index 2019, an annual audit of workplace culture for lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff. The charity’s Top Trans Employers represent the organisations that received the highest scores for creating trans-inclusive workplaces.
Amy Gibbons, St Mungo’s Head of Client Involvement, Diversity and Inclusion, said: “We are very pleased to be featured for the sixth year in a row in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers list and to have moved up 30 places since last year. We are also particularly pleased to be named for the first time as a Top Trans Employer.
“At St Mungo’s we work hard to ensure all of our staff and clients feel valued, included and able to be their best selves no matter what their sexual orientation or gender identity. We are proud of everything we have achieved this year and would like to say thank you to our fantastic LGBTQ+ network and all of our committed and passionate staff who work hard to promote LGBTQ inclusion every day.”
Equality and diversity are central to St Mungo’s values and the charity makes sure LGBT awareness and inclusion are part of how clients and staff are supported.
The St Mungo’s LGBTQ+ Network inputs into diversity training, internal policy reviews and supports staff and clients; raises awareness of LGBT equality through LGBT History Month, nationwide Pride events and influences the organisation’s development and service provision.
