St Mungo’s want to ensure that homeless people who need support to live independently have the right housing and related support at the right time to make a recovery.

This requires a clear government plan and investment to protect the long term future of supported housing, as well as the piloting of innovative approaches such as Housing First.

We also want to ensure that people who have been homeless can move on to a home that is affordable, safe, comfortable and stable and can manage any problems that put their home at risk with support if they need it.

This requires an increase in genuinely affordable housing available from social landlords and social lettings agencies and an increase in tenancy support for people who have been homeless.
