St Mungo’s representation to HM Treasury for the Autumn Budget 2018

In anticipation of the release of the Autumn budget, St Mungo’s sent a representation to HM Treasury, the government’s economic and finance ministry, setting out our recommendations to reduce and prevent homelessness.

These include

  • investing in accommodation and support for people moving on from rough sleeping, as laid out in our Home for Good campaign, and
  • investing in improvements to Universal Credit, the need for which was highlighted in a recent research report conducted by Policy in Practice together with St Mungo’s, Riverside, YMCA and The Salvation Army

Download our representation below to find out more.

The budget is a statement made by Chancellor of the Exchequer, the government’s chief financial minister, and sets out the UK’s plans for tax, public spending and economic forecasts. The 2018 Budget will be revealed on Monday 29 October 2018 at 3.30pm by The Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP.
