Outreach Volunteer (Language Support Needed)

As an Outreach Volunteer you will be assisting Outreach Workers to carry out shifts, adding vital capacity to the team, and enabling us to engage with more rough sleepers who have been referred both via StreetLink and those already known to the team.

    • Bristol – 1 shift per week between 6am – 11am, any weekday, or 1 shift per weekend between 7am-11am. You can  also make a fortnightly commitment to this if you can’t commit to weekly session (Involves a lot of walking, must be able to speak: Romanian; Italian; Spanish; Polish; Slovakian; Romani; French or Arabic)

    Events Assistant Volunteer

Do you have good written and verbal communication skills with a friendly manner? As an Events Assistant volunteer you will gain experience in key areas such as managing a project, stewardship, using databases and attending events.

    Psychotherapy Student Placements (Oxford)

Life Works, St Mungo’s innovative therapy service, is offering a valuable opportunity for experienced trainee and qualified psychotherapists to take up a voluntary placement providing psychotherapy for people experiencing chronic homelessness and social exclusion.

    Given the complex nature of this work, we require applicants to already have 100 hours experience of providing individual psychotherapy and be in their second year or above of training, and to commit to a one year placement.

    Please see all locations and the time commitments we are currently recruiting for in this role:

    • Oxford City– 3-5 hours per week for client counselling, between Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-5pm and a further 1.5 hours to attend fortnightly clinical supervision sessions on Wednesdays at 9.30am

    Cheer Point Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us at our cheer points at the London Marathon (Sunday 2 October) and the Royal Parks Half Marathon (Sunday 9 October) this year. Your role will be to make as much noise as possible to cheer on our team of amazing runners and help keep them going on the course. Your support will make a huge difference to our runners experience and will boost their fundraising to get us one step closer to ending homelessness.

    First Response Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Are you looking for your first role in the homelessness sector? As a First Response Volunteer, you will help find those rough sleeping quicker, and enable Outreach workers to spend more time supporting those found to move away from the streets and get connected to other local services. First Responders play a crucial role in ensure people sleeping rough receive vital support. This is not a client-facing role and therefore is well suited to somebody looking for their first role in the homelessness sector. However, we do also offer development opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge about rough sleeping for those interested.

    • Tower Hamlets – between 9pm – 12am during the week or over the weekend (1 shift per month)

    Gardening Group Volunteer

With Spring here, we are looking for volunteers to facilitate regular gardening sessions for our clients, guided by St Mungo’s values. This will be a great opportunity to share your talent for and interest in gardening with our clients. We’re seeking someone who is open to helping clients learn at their own pace, and take pride in their achievements. Working with our clients, you can plan the gardening sessions to meet the needs of the participants and take a creative approach to how these are facilitated.

    Art Group Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Can you help inspire our clients through art? We are looking for an experienced Art Group Volunteer who can facilitate sessions with groups of clients. We’re seeking someone who can support and empower clients through providing them with a regular creative outlet, and enable them to pick up some skills and tips on the way! We believe that everyone has strengths, and you will need to be able to facilitate sessions in a way that is inclusive of all abilities. Working with the clients, you can design the art sessions to meet the needs of the participants and take a creative approach to how these are facilitated.

    Please note due to the nature of this service, we can only accept applications from those who identify as female.
