ACE Women’s Group Volunteer

As a Women’s Group Volunteer you will be working alongside St Mungo’s staff to facilitate group sessions within a creative wellbeing group. This role will be to support with a range of different tasks including: helping to provide a safe space for those who identify as Women, helping set up and clear away table, chairs and creative activities, accessing a kitchen to help with refreshments for clients, occasionally accompanying groups on trips into the community, introducing various activities to participants and signposting attendees to appropriate services for further support.

    Wellbeing Group Facilitator Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. As a Wellbeing Group Facilitator you’ll be leading sessions for our clients, supporting discussion and reflection on wellbeing.

    • Sutton- once a fortnight, for 2 hours between 11am-5pm on a weekday –  ideally this would be on a Wednesday between 2-4pm but we are able to be flexible.

    Christmas Collection Volunteer

This winter we’re hosting bucket collections at Stations and Christmas Markets across Bristol and Bath. We’re asking for volunteers to join us for a two hour slot at a time of your choice throughout the day, to help spread festive cheer whilst engaging with members of the public with our work and collecting vital donations to help get people off the streets this winter.

    How you’ll make a difference

    Last year, our outreach teams worked with 11,453 people who were sleeping on the streets. We also provided specialist healthcare, training and employment teams dedicated to helping people recover from their experiences and really turn their lives around for good. . Our aim is help every person we meet to recover and rebuild their lives.

    The money you raise could help provide counselling to people affected by homelessness, to support their mental health and begin their recovery journey.

     

    Qualified Psychotherapy Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Are you interested in challenging and rewarding voluntary work? Life Works is an innovative therapy service that has an excellent reputation for increasing access to talking therapies for people experiencing homelessness and complex needs, for developing good practice in this specialised work, and for the positive and evaluated outcomes.

    We are currently looking for qualified psychotherapists to support our work at the following locations and times:

    • Oxford City– 4-5 hours per week for client counselling (between Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-5pm) and a further 1.5 hours to attend fortnightly clinical supervision sessions on Wednesdays at 9.30am

    Putting Down Roots – Gardening Support Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Are you keen on supporting our clients in their recovery through gardening? Putting Down Roots is a horticultural therapy and training project, using gardening as a tool to help people in their recovery. The Putting Down Roots team recently scooped a Silver Medal for its innovative garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. In this role, you will be supporting clients to learn how to plant and grow flowers, herbs, vegetables, how to maintain green spaces and to learn other gardening skills. Whilst gardening experience would be an advantage, we are looking for people who can work well with our clients and are keen to get stuck in and learn alongside them in the garden!

    First Response Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Are you looking for your first role in the homelessness sector? As a First Response Volunteer, you will help find those rough sleeping quicker, and enable Outreach workers to spend more time supporting those found to move away from the streets and get connected to other local services. First Responders play a crucial role to ensure people sleeping rough receive vital support. This is not a client-facing role and therefore is well suited to somebody looking for their first role in the homelessness sector. However, we do also offer development opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge about rough sleeping for those interested.

    Gardening Group Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s.  We are looking for volunteers to facilitate regular gardening sessions for our clients, guided by St Mungo’s values. This will be a great opportunity to share your talent for and interest in gardening with our clients. We’re seeking someone who is open to helping clients learn at their own pace, and take pride in their achievements. Working with our clients, you can plan the gardening sessions to meet the needs of the participants and take a creative approach to how these are facilitated.

    Art Group Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Can you help inspire our clients through art? We are looking for an experienced Art group volunteer who can facilitate sessions with groups of clients. We’re seeking someone who can support and empower clients through providing them with a regular creative outlet, and enable them to pick up some skills and tips on the way! We believe that everyone has strengths and you will need to be able to facilitate sessions in a way that is inclusive of all abilities. Working with the clients, you can design the art sessions to meet the needs of the participants and take a creative approach to how these are facilitated.

    Outreach Volunteer

    It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. As an Outreach Volunteer you will be assisting Outreach Workers to carry out shifts, adding vital capacity to the team, and enabling us to engage with more rough sleepers who have been referred both via StreetLink and those already known to the team. Our Outreach Volunteers work with the Outreach Worker and support with navigation, client assessments and note taking.

    • Bournemouth and Poole- Monday-Friday, 6am-10am (1-2 shifts per week)

    • Westminster- Saturday, 6am-9am or Sunday 8:30pm-12am (minimum 1 shift per month)
