Emma joined St Mungo’s as its Chief Executive in November 2022, bringing with her a wealth of experience supporting people who have been displaced and marginalised.
Prior to joining the sector Emma worked in central government for almost two decades. As Director General for Asylum and Protection in the Home Office she was responsible for running the UK’s asylum system and refugee resettlement programmes. Previously she led delivery of child maintenance, pensions and working age benefits in the Department for Work and Pensions. Emma sits on the Government’s Expert Panel on Homelessness and Rough Sleeping.
She has a doctorate in international relations from the London School of Economics.
