Financial stability

Lack of financial stability can put people at risk of homelessness and prevent those already experiencing homelessness from finding suitable accommodation, covering their basic living costs, and moving on from homelessness.

We want to ensure that the welfare system works well for people at risk of homelessness, including those with multiple and complex needs. We also want to ensure that everyone has access to tailored employment support and adult learning services.

This requires a cross-government understanding of the financial needs of people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, recognition that existing policies may not work for this group, and a commitment to finding alternatives and providing specialist support.
