About the role

It’s fantastic that you’d like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. As a Literacy Volunteer, you’ll help us to provide personalised support to our clients to overcome barriers to learning and build self-belief. You won’t be just supporting them with their literacy but also with rebuilding their wellbeing and everyday life skills so they move towards greater independence and progression. The roles based in Camden and Hackney will be based within our Construction Hubs, where you will specifically support clients attending our Construction Skills course to understand course materials, technical construction terminology and assessment requirements so they successfully achieve their qualification.

Please see all locations and the time commitments we are currently recruiting for in this role:

  • Lambeth- Monday or Tuesday, 11am-4pm, once a week; 3 hours per week.
  • Camden-Monday to Thursday, 10am-3pm, up to 4 days a week – ideally at least 2 days/week.
  • Hackney-Monday to Thursday, 10am-3pm, up to 4 days a week – ideally at least 2 days/week.
