Lake District Challenge

A stunning challenge from 10 to 100km while supporting St Mungo’s work

About the event

Starting in Kendal, this challenge takes you on a stunning anticlockwise loop through some of the region’s most breathtaking scenery. Conquer tough climbs, cross the Garburn Pass, pass through historic Ambleside, and hit the halfway point by the shores of Lake Windermere. You’ll journey through forests and nature reserves, all while soaking up incredible views—before a hero’s welcome and celebration back at basecamp.

You’ll be fully supported along the way with hospitality and optional camping or hostel stays. Whether you take on the full 100km, a half challenge, marathon, quarter route, or a 10K, the Lake District Challenge has a distance for everyone, and participating for St Mungo’s means you’ll be supporting people experiencing homelessness while you go.

Fundraising Options

Self funding 

You pay the full cost of the event place – fundraise whatever you want, with no set target or deadline.

  • 10km: Reg fee £39
  • 25km: Reg fee £89
  • 50km: Reg fee £139
  • 100km: Reg fee £199

 

Charity Sponsorship

You pay a small registration fee, do lots of fundraising and we cover the cost of your event place.

  • 10km: Reg fee £20 / fundraising target £100
  • 25km: Reg fee £30 / fundraising target £275
  • 50km: Reg fee £40 / fundraising target £375
  • 100km: Reg fee £50 / fundraising target £575

 

Mixed Funding

Pay half of the event place cost yourself, fundraise a bit less and we pay the balance of the event place cost.
