We are committed to actively involving you in all aspects of our work.
We want to work in partnership with you and for you to feel you are involved in your own recovery Journey. That is the first step to you feeling involved and engaged at St Mungo’s
We define involvement as
Involvement can happen in different ways and varies in commitment.
Whether you are supporting the recruitment of new staff, sitting on our Client Advisory board or contributing to a residents meeting, you have opportunities to shape the direction of the organisation and have a say in decisions which affect you
Ways you can get involved with activities in your service include:
If you don’t live in one of our services speak to a support worker who can advise of either St Mungo’s involvement activities you can access, or community-based support.
This winter, people will be forced to sleep rough on the streets in often freezing temperatures.
With your support, our frontline teams can find people who need our help.
Become a Client Advisory Board (CAB) member – Our Client Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of clients or former clients who work in partnership with our organisation and senior leadership. Its members influence the direction of travel of St. Mungo’s and are actively involved in high level decision making.
Location: Meetings take place either at our Head Office in London or you can join remotely. Time commitment: Up to 4 hours a month for 2 years.
Becoming a Client Ambassador – Use your own lived experience to help funders, corporate partners, politicians and the public understand more about homelessness and the work St Mungo’s does.
The role comes with training and support. This is a Flexible role and Volunteering happens on ad-hoc days, times and location when Ambassadors are needed to attend certain events.
Doing a client placement at our Head Office – We often have opportunities to undertake 6-month placements with teams in Central office. Previous placements have included fundraising, The Quality and Complaints team, Finance, and the Repairs department. Email clientinvolvement@mungos.org to find out about the latest placements or to express an interest.
We’re always looking for clients to help us improve:
Join a working group – We often have Ad-hoc groups running, these could be on building safety, developing new services or reviewing policies and procedures etc. Email us for more information.
Peer Volunteering – We offer Peer volunteering for people with lived experience including homelessness, mental health, substance use, criminal justice. Roles are across different services at St Mungo’s. Any current peer roles will be advertised here.
Homeless Diamonds – We’re proud to be co-producing this magazine, led by our amazing volunteer, Jen.
People with lived experience who are associated with St Mungo’s can submit writing or art pieces of any kind and share their talent with the Homeless Diamonds community.
If you are unsure about joining, have more questions or would like to send us a digital version of your creation, email us here.
All contributions will be published and contributors will receive a copy of the issue their work is published in. You can view all past issues by clicking here.
