Philanthropy

Transform the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

Partner with us to end homelessness

St Mungo’s has been on the frontline of homelessness for 55 years, helping people to move forward with their lives. From outreach teams that help people off the streets, to safe accommodation, to long-term recovery programmes – we’re there for people every step of the way.

Our mission is simple but ambitious: to end homelessness and help people rebuild their lives for good.

Philanthropy is vital to this mission – it allows us to innovate, to respond where needs are greatest, and to create lasting change for people facing homelessness.

Why your partnership matters

While much of our income comes from government contracts and our social housing provision, philanthropic support enables us to go further – to enhance services, pilot new ideas and reach people who might otherwise be left without help. Crucially, your support helps us provide emergency accommodation combined with life-changing support to those who need it most.

Your generosity funds:

  • Outreach and early intervention that connect people with safety and support.
  • Advice and advocacy that help people access the housing, healthcare and benefits they are entitled to.
  • Learning, wellbeing and employment programmes that build confidence, skills and community.
  • Compassionate specialist care for people facing illness, bereavement or other life challenges.
  • Projects that bring dignity and connection – from creative workshops to community events.
  • Improvements to our accommodation so it feels like home, not just a place to stay.

“Fundraised income enables us to go beyond crisis response – to create the conditions where people can rebuild their lives and move away from homelessness for good.”

Ways to give

No matter how you choose to give – as an individual, through a charitable trust or via professional advisers – your support helps us go further and faster in ending homelessness for good.

Transformative gifts allow us to act quickly where statutory services can’t, and to invest in projects that change lives long term.

We’ll work closely with you to align your giving with your values and interests, and to show the difference you make.

See your impact

Philanthropy at St Mungo’s is a partnership built on trust, transparency and shared purpose.

We’ll keep you informed through personal updates and clear reporting on how your donations are used and the outcomes they achieve.

When you give to St Mungo’s, you join a community of philanthropists, partners and changemakers working together to end homelessness. You’ll be connected through stories, events and opportunities to see the impact you make – alongside others who share your commitment to rebuilding lives.

When you join our community, you bring more than financial support – you bring ideas, experience and perspective. Whether that’s offering your professional expertise, volunteering your time, or helping us connect with others who share your values, your involvement helps us go further.

Julian is rebuilding lives through education

Julian first donated to St Mungo’s in 1995.

Since, through a series of major gifts, he has helped us improve our services – including the redevelopment of our Great Guildford Street hostel – supporting people to leave the streets and rebuild their lives.

Without the support of generous philanthropists like Julian, our work would not be possible.

Watch as he discusses his inspiration for getting involved with our work and his hopes for the future
