The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government have been seeking feedback on the implementation of the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) so far. The HRA came in to force in April 2018, and introduced new duties on local authorities to prevent and relieve homelessness.
Our response, using evidence from CHAIN data as well as staff feedback, sets out why we believe the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 is currently failing to prevent people sleeping rough.
