About the role

It’s fantastic that you would like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. As an Art Group Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients to explore creative activities, build their artistic skills, and grow in confidence. For many, these sessions are a first step towards discovering their ambitions and moving on to opportunities in learning and employment.

Please see all locations and the time commitments we are currently recruiting for in this role:

Lewisham-Monday-Sunday, 2-3 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months.

The attached role description will give you more information on the type of tasks you will be undertaking in this role as well as the support you will get from us in return.

Recruitment for this role may be closed earlier depending on the volume of applications we receive.

For some roles we may ask volunteers to do a DBS check (previously called CRB checks). If your role requires a DBS check, when we receive your application we will ask you to disclose spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, except those which are "protected" as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). This is due to the vulnerability of our clients and therefore certain roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from volunteering with St Mungo's, but some convictions may require further discussion.
