Tenancy sustainment is all about making sure clients can keep their home and live safely and independently. It means having the right support in place — whether that’s help with rent, managing relationships with landlords, accessing benefits, improving wellbeing, or planning for the future.

What do we offer?

The Private Rented Sector Tenancy Sustainment Team have been supporting tenants since 2019, working with over 200 services in London. The service is run by Clearing House, Thames Reach & Single Homeless Project (SHP). We offer support in a number of areas, including:

  • Assistance around setting up bills; electric, council tax, rent etc.

  • Linking tenants in with local services i.e. GPs, mental and physical health services as well as substance support.

  • Support with liaising with landlords/agents regarding repairs and other tenancy related issues.

Tenancy Sustainment Team workers are here to support clients face-to-face, for up to six months.

Who do we support?

Support is available to anyone who has slept rough in London and/or is moving out of supported accommodation that is predominantly for people with a history of rough sleeping.

Who can refer to us?

Staff from the following service types can refer to us, we do not take self-referrals from clients;

Commissioned Hostels – Homelessness hostels and supported housing services which predominately support rough sleepers.

Commissioned Outreach Teams.

Commissioned Assessment Centres – Borough and Pan-London assessment centres/hubs for people sleeping rough.

Winter Shelters / Day Centres – which offer support to people who are rough sleeping. Local authority housing options/rough sleeping teams.
